Relocating to Lodi, guided by someone who's lived here all her life
A smooth landing in Lodi. I'll help you find the neighborhood that fits your life before you commit.
Moving to Lodi from somewhere else
Relocating to Lodi means trading a map full of unknowns for a town you'll soon call home. Wine country, Lodi Lake, a historic downtown with the Street Faire, and big-town conveniences close by.
The hard part of moving from out of the area isn't the paperwork. It's choosing a neighborhood you've never walked, often from hundreds of miles away, sometimes on a deadline set by a new job.
I'm Audrey Schmierer, a REALTOR® with Keller Williams Central Valley, and I've lived in Lodi my whole life. I can tell you how each part of town really feels, which is the one thing a listing website can't.
How I help you land well
A neighborhood orientation. Before you look at a single listing, we talk about what your days look like: your commute, your weekends, how much house and yard you want. Then I match that to the right parts of town.
Video tours when you can't be here. Found a home online but live out of state? I'll walk through it for you on video, room by room, and show you the street and the block too. You'll see what the photos leave out.
Your move, timed around your start date. We plan backward from the day you need to be here, so your pre-approval, offer and escrow line up with your job and your life.
Daily updates, wherever you are. You'll hear from me every day, so distance never means being left in the dark.
What you get, step by step
- A relocation consultation by phone or video, covering your timeline, budget and the neighborhoods worth a look.
- Pre-approval with a lender I trust, set up before you arrive.
- A shortlist that fits, with new homes sent your way as they come up.
- Video tours of the homes you like, plus in-person showings when you visit.
- A strong offer and a calm escrow, handled in California by escrow and a title company. Your inspection period is typically 17 days.
- Your keys, timed to your move.

Getting to know the area
Here's a quick feel for a few places worth a look.
Relocating within Lodi gives you plenty of choice. Rose Gate is brand-new construction around Rose Gate Park, near Westgate shopping and Lodi Lake. Sunwest has larger custom homes on large lots and quiet streets, with easy access in and out of the west side. Downtown Lodi has older homes full of character, close to a walkable downtown.
Commuting north? Galt puts you closer to Sacramento. Want a bigger city next door? Stockton has more job opportunities, shopping and restaurants, and the Delta for boating and fishing.

Can you time my purchase around a new job start date?
Yes. We plan backward from your start date so your pre-approval, offer and escrow line up with your move.
Which parts of Lodi should I look at first?
It depends on how you want to live. Rose Gate is new construction, Sunwest has larger custom homes on large lots, and Downtown Lodi has older homes with character. We'll narrow it down in your consultation.
